Kazakhstan, located in Central Asia, is officially known as the Republic of Kazakhstan and it is the largest economy in Central Asia. Kazakhstan is the largest landlocked nation in the world and it is also the 9th largest country in the world. Kazakhstan has rich deposits of fossil fuel along with metals and minerals. The industrial sector of the country is based on the mining and processing of the natural resources. After Australia, it has the second largest reserves of uranium in the world and it ranks 3rd for uranium production. Main industries include: oil, coal, iron ore, manganese, chromite, lead, bauxite, gold, silver, phosphates, zinc, copper, titanium, sulfur, iron and steel, tractors and other agricultural machinery, electric motors and construction materials. |
